TIBC calls Eddie Clark as Associate Pastor – ordination service to follow

Eddie and Emily Clark joined TIBC earlier this year. They have 3 children, whom were all born in SE Asia, where they served as missionaries for over 10 years.

The church unanimously decided to call Eddie to church leadership effective Sept 1, with ordination service to be conducted by Pastor Ted Lam on Sunday Oct 9th 2pm. Join us in September as we welcome Pastor Eddie. Eddie will serve as Associate Pastor, and focus on areas of ministry to be determined. Although Eddie is fluent in Mandarin, he will work closely with the English congregation. This gives TIBC the flexibility of having two bilingual ministers on staff, the first time in its history.

Amazing how God leads Us and brings Friends into our midst

Two years ago on this day, God brought a dear friend into my midst, I just didn’t realize it as of yet. A guest trio was in town to lead our Mandarin service in singing, and I was on camera duty that day (for TIBC’s online video YouTube channel). As I was mic’ing up the group, there was a smiling face. In this trio, stood a boy with a God-given voice, and leadership qualities. Since that time, he has grown in faith, and God has blessed him with his Eve, named Elaine. A year after this firsts encounter, William and I would cross paths again, when a job transfer would lead him to relocate to Tulsa. Two years ago, I too was still a single man. Today, our wives Cassie and Elaine are close friends, and I and William the same. I struggled leading worship alone. So God brought me not only William but also Leon (a story for another day) as friends for a lifetime. We currently have the opportunity to head the formation of TIBC Praise and Worship team, together. God gave Adam a helper named Eve, and that same loving God knew this struggling worship leader needed help, bringing a William and a Leon. Two years ago this day, William and I were single boys, meeting for the first time. Today, we stand together as part of God’s Team to revitalize NEW TIBC.  Pray for us and follow our journey here.  ~ Jason

Attached are two videos: one the aforementioned day, and the second, Leon, William and I sharing one of our worship favorites.

Free Medical Consult Services to be offered regularly at TIBC starting Jan 11 2015

Members can receive free medical consult services once a month from 1-2pm. A team of registered nurses and a local family practice physician, Dr. Candy Ting will provide basic medical consult services including but not limited to general health checkup, prescriptions for needed ailments, and diabetic screening. Services may be expanded depending on need. The first date for this free clinic will be January 11th 2015.

This ministry will work in conjunction with our partnership with Children of Promise and the Parents Night Out Ministry. This ministry will capitalize on the expertise of our church member Chris Zaino, a physical therapist with pediatric specialty.

As we lead up to the Blessed Family Conference in March, our church TIBC is blessed to have resident experts to share their knowledge with the community.

Is Sunday School supposed to be this much fun?

Sunday School is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, and today is no exception. During class we watched a travel video on Ancient Rome to kickoff our study of Romans. It’s been 4 years since I’ve visited Rome, and this video makes me want to visit again, especially after our discussion about the book of Romans. Maybe at the conclusion of our Romans study we can have a group extended Sunday School field trip? 😉 Better start putting in vacation time for 2014… ~ Jason Ting
